INITIATIVES

Each month, youth-led environmental initiatives will be featured on First Here, Then Everywhere. These initiatives illustrate the actions that are being taken around the world to mitigate global warming.

CURRENT INITIATIVE:
Nisha Varghese

My name is Nisha Varghese. I am the oldest of three kids. In spite of Cerebral Palsy--a condition which makes it impossible for me to walk and use my right arm properly--started Nisha’s Clean Water For All Campaign and achieved the following objectives:

  1. By March 5 2012: to build a well and raise $6,500.00 for “The Water Project, Inc,” an organization that provides clean water to communities all over the world who suffer needlessly without it. I raised $7,862.
  2. To highlight the plight of those who do not have easy access to clean water. I raised sufficient awareness.
  3. To prove to the world that anybody can make a difference, change the world, and be an inspiration to someone else. I showed the world--through the internet--that anyone can make a difference.
